Los Jorges are the only democratically elected international movie awards – chosen by YOU, the audience! How it works
Participants (i.e. jury members) are invited to vote for the best movie, actors, actresses, directors, and screenplays in the following royal categories which are nominated for the Academy Awards aka “Oscars” each year:
- Best Film
- Best Actor
- Best Actress
- Best Actor in a Supporting Role
- Best Actress in a Supporting Role
- Best Director
- Best Original Screenplay
- Best Adapted Screenplay
- Best Animated Picture the Year
- Best Foreign Language Film
This year, the nominations for the Academy Awards are announced on 23 January 2025. Shorty after, Los Jorges nominations are published and jury members has time to watch these nominated movies and to cast their votes.
Additionally, participants are invited to nominate their own candidates for Los Jorges honoríficos for performances that have not been nominated for Los Jorges/Oscars this year but deserve an award.
Voting is concluded on Friday, February 28 and the winners of Los Jorges 2025 will be announced on the day of the gala.
